Meet the World SKF tournament - 7th April, 2012

Breakthrough Chiparamba will this Saturday, 7th of April, hold the 5th Meet the World football tournament in Lusaka at the National Sports Development Centre in Lusaka. BCSA will hold a tournament for U18 boys between 9am and 4pm. The winners of the tournament will have an all expense paid for trip to Sweden which will be covered by SKF, the sponsors of the tournament. 

As BCSA, we are excited to be part of such an important event which has provided opportunities to more than 1000 boys and girls since 2007. We are encouraging those that wish to participate in the tournament next year to register at the BCSA offices at the National Sports Development Centre. 


 
 

refugee camp VCT tournament coming

Breakthrough Chiparamba and Grassroot Soccer (GRS) will this month hold a VCT tournament in Mayukwayukwa refugee camp. Youth teams will be enouraged to test during the event as way of promoting regular HIV testing among young people. GRS peer leaders will be at hand in providing HIV education to all participants from different camp sites. Breakthrough Chiparamba will manage the whole event with local volunteers to ensure a fun and educational day.

Youth Development through Sport - Zambia chapter

The BSA Youth Development through Sport (YDF) team will today 15/2/10 leave for Solwezi and later to Ndola to conduct partnership meetings and football league workshops with community leaders aimed at introducing the new and exciting YDF program which was launched in Zambia in late 2009. School Sponsorship program receive $2,600 from Norway

Rune Kalland, a BSA board member based in Norway helped to raise $2,600 in Norway through his family and friends who are determined to support boys and girls who need support to stay in school and get the education they need to survive in future.

Former US national soccer team captain to visit BSA

Desmond Armstrong

Rocket City United technical director and former US National Team captain Desmond Armstrong will visit Zambia for the 3rd time since 2006. He will be in Zambia from the 2nd to the 6th of February, 2010. During his visit, Desmond will work with BSA in training 15 coaches in Lusaka and 20 coaches in Mpika District. He will also scout for players to attend a football summer camp in the US during the month of May.

Mulayi Wilombe (16 years) received her 8th national team callup and she is proud to be leader of her team as they play South Africa in Johannesburg on the 9th of January, 2010. Zambia and South Africa will meet in the CAF Under-20 Women’s second round, first leg qualifier next month. Zambia will host South Africa in the return leg on January 23 for a place in the final qualifier in February 2010 where the two winners will qualify to the Germany 2010 FIFA Women’s Under-20 World Cup. Damiano wins gold

Damiano Phiri recently represented Zambia at the COSAFA Under 20 Championship in South Africa where the team beat South Africa's Amajita in the finals. Damiano is the first BSA player to represent Zambia and win a trophy for his country. Well done Dami; we are so proud of you!
